Lyon have set a deadline
Barcelona have been told they have until Friday to sign Lyon captain Memphis Depay.
Club president Jean-Michel Aulas has said he wants all transfer business sorted by the end of the week and will tell his players and management the same.
“We will tell the players that whatever will not be settled in terms of departures before Friday, there will be no more departures,” he said.
“So for us the [closing] date of the transfer window will be Friday. I think I will propose it tomorrow (Tuesday) to Rudi Garcia and Juninho, because it’s understandable.
“And all people of goodwill can see that there is something wrong [with the results of the team]. It can be because of that, but it can also be a lot of other things. In any case, from Friday, the players who have not left will not leave.”

Manager Ronald Koeman is said to be keen to bring in Depay to help replace Luis Suarez who has left for Atletico Madrid. However, it’s not clear if Barca can actually afford to land the Netherlands international.
Barca are expected to complete the signing of Sergino Dest from Ajax which means they may have to offload more players before they can secure any more transfers.
