FC Barcelona News: 4 February 2018; 19 Named in Match Squad, Date for Atletico Madrid Clash Confirmed

Ousmane Dembélé and Thomas Vermaelen are still injured for FCB, and although Andre Gomes is over his illness, he was also left out of the squad announced on Saturday. Colombian Carlos Sánchez, better known as ‘La Roca’ (the rock), has been included in the Espanyol squad just a few days after being loaned from Aston Villa via Fiorentina. Dídac Vilà and Pablo Piatti both miss the game through injury.

Before releasing the squad list, Ernesto Valverde and the coaching staff oversaw the team’s final preparatory session before Sunday’s game. Meanwhile, they managed to shift Javier Mascherano, Arda Turan, Rafinha and Gerard Deulofeu from the wage bill, lightening Valverde’s squad in the process.
