So much gossip, so little time
Iniesta thinking about China
Today’s rumors start with Andres Iniesta and news that he is pondering a move to China.
According to Sport he has received a mega offer from Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian that would see him earn €35 million a season.
There has been contact from the club and Iniesta will make up his mind in March about whether to head to the Far East or stay at Barca.
Barcelona will listen to Gomes offers
Andre Gomes’s future at Barcelona is frequently the subject of speculation and so it continues with AS claiming the club will listen to offers in the summer.
The club are prepared to let him leave if they receive a good offer and Gomes may have chance to show what he can do at the World Cup this summer with Portugal.
Arthur meeting set for this weekend
Over at Marca, the news is that Barcelona will meet with Gremio to discuss a transfer fee for midfielder Arthur.
Gremio want €30 million for the 21-year-old but do not own all his economic rights. Therefore Barcelona may have to pay nearer to his €50m release clause if they are to finally land the Brazilian.
Eriksen was an alternative to Coutinho
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo report how Christian Eriksen was a real alternative to Philippe Coutinho for Barcelona.
Apparently, Barca were seriously tempted by the Tottenham midfielder and saw him as an ideal replacement for Andres Iniesta, and a more affordable option than Coutinho.
However, the club ultimately decided to go all out for Coutinho, particularly as they knew that trying to prise Eriksen from Spurs would also be a tough task.
Timo Werner wants to play for Barcelona...and just about everyone else
RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has been talking about his future and his name-checked pretty much all of Europe’s top clubs as teams he’d like to play for.
He told Sport 1: “If you take Germany, it would be a lie to say that you would not like to play for Bayern. It would be a lie to say in England you’d not like to play for Manchester United or Manchester City.
“In Spain, Barça or Real Madrid. There are great clubs in every league. Italy or France would not be my leagues, but the other three would be.”
Arsenal eyeing Dembele
And today’s rumors just couldn’t resist a peek at Don Balon who reckon that Arsenal are going to make a move for Ousmane Dembele when the transfer window reopens.
Apparently, Barcelona have become obsessed with trying to find a “successful exit” for Dembele. They are concerned he will become a worse signing than Arda Turan and that the arrival of Antoine Griezmann in the summer will leave him out in the cold.
Fortunately Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has come to the rescue as Arsenal’s new recruit wants Dembele to move to north London, but the Gunners are only willing to pay €60m.
