Valverde: ‘Satisfied but not happy’ after Barcelona are held by Olympiacos

The coach gave his thoughts after the game

FinalizeErnesto Valverde said Barcelona were “satisfied but not happy” after Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with Olympiacos in the Champions League.

The result leaves Barca needing just one point from their last two games but it was a less than impressive performance from the Blaugrana.

Speaking after the game Valverde, perhaps surprisingly, said he was happy with the performance against an Olympiacos side who defended resolutely throughout.

"I liked the way the team played a lot," he said. "We lacked a bit of efficiency, but we showed the spirit that you have to have.

"Obviously our intention was to win and I think we had the chances to do so, but Olympiakos were great in defence. We didn't take our chances, but never mind.

"So we're satisfied, but not happy. Now we have two games ahead of us and we will look at things from a positive point of view.

“We're in the same position as before and with a point in the next game we will seal first place -- that's what we will try to do."

Barcelona head to Turin after the international break to take on Juventus again before hosting Sporting in December.

While last night’s game was one to forget, it’s worth remembering Barca remain three points ahead of Juve, are still unbeaten and have only conceded once in four Champions League games.
