On what looked like an awful day for Barcelona, Lionel Messi has turned things around with one brilliant free kick.
In the 90th minute, while down 1-0 away to Villarreal, Messi stepped up and curled in a fantastic free kick to bring the match level and save Barca from a bad defeat to open the second half of the La Liga season.
With a chance to tie the game late, Neymar and Messi stood over the all-important free kick right at the top of the penalty area. There was only one man to take it as Messi did what Messi does and scored a hugely clutch goal.
It hasn’t been a good team performance, but Messi came through when it matter most to earn the club a big point away from home.
