New contract, lots of money!
It's basically common sense that Philippe Coutinho should follow on the footsteps of former teammate Luis Suárez and leave Liverpool to join Barcelona sometime in the near future. Coutinho is a star on the rise, he's Brazilian, he's smart, he scores goals, he creates goals, he's called the Little Magician for a reason, and he has said he wants to play at Barça.
All the boxes are checked, and sources have said multiple times that the 24-year-old is a realistic target for the Blaugrana to pursue relatively soon, possibly as a replacement to Neymar, who will likely join Paris Saint-Germain at some point (or Manchester City, but that's a topic for another day).
Coutinho may be a Barça player one day, but it's going to cost the Catalan giants a lot more money now. That's because Philippe has signed a new contract with Liverpool, which extends his deal with the club until 2022.
Just days after opening fresh contract negotiation talks, Liverpool threw all the money at Philippe Coutinho, and the talented 24-year-old Brazilian duly put pen to paper.
Coutinho’s new deal will keep him at the club until the summer of 2022, and will reportedly make him the highest-paid player at the club, bringing in around £150,000 per week. It’s nearly twice as much as he was making on his previous contract, one which he extended just last February.

Coutinho now has a lot of money in his bank account with this new deal, he's VERY happy at Liverpool and it would take a gigantic offer to convince the club and the player to leave for another team, even if that's Barcelona.
It's safe to say Philippe Coutinho will be a Blaugrana one day, but just like it was with Luis Suárez, that will be expensive.
