Is the potential lack of transfers in the January window going to bite the Blaugrana on the behind?
Luis Enrique brought Aleix Vidal back into the fold last week, when the wing-back started for the Blaugrana against Las Palmas.
Despite having looked shaky for the longest time, the Spaniard was in top-form on the night, leading to his first goal for the Catalans. Vidal had looked exceptional through out the game, and Luis Enrique was quick to praise the fringe player, who had looked set to depart the Camp Nou.
While Enrique's comments were justified by the player's perfomance, they also came on the back-end of rumours suggesting Barcelona's falling out with Darijo Srna—Barcelona had been negotiating with Srna for quite some time, before news broke of the Croatian's wish to continue at Shakhtar Donetsk.
While Barcelona had appeared to be in search of a right-back for a long time, their lack of activity in the market since the "Srna" episode leaves a huge question mark on the second half of Barça's season.
It has been obvious for a while now, that Sergi Roberto has failed to perform as expected. The versatile midfielder continues to remain first choice at the moment due to a lack of alternatives.
While the resurgence of Vidal in the squad is a positive sign, it remains to be seen, if the board will get on the market and sign an actual full-back— From the looks of it, the right-back saga is going to play itself into next summer.
