FC Barcelona Medical Report: Jasper Cillessen, Sergi Roberto

Bad news for the Dutch, not so bad news for the Spaniard

The international break has injured three Barcelona players so far, and after getting to know the extent of Jordi Alba's problem, we now get to know how long the other two will be out for.

Tests Monday confirmed that first-team goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has suffered sprained ligaments in his right ankle, an injury that will keep him out of action for approximately three weeks.

In other injury news, Barça midfielder Sergi Roberto has suffered a strain to his right adductor, according to tests carried out on Monday. His availability will be determined in the coming days.

So the problems aren't that serious, and in Cillessen's case, his absence doesn't really affect Luis Enrique's plans since the Dutchman has been Ter Stegen's permanent backup and the German is now fully healthy and would play during the next three weeks anyway.

The issue with Sergi Roberto isn't as concerning since the player is listed as day-to-day, but it deserves attention since Roberto is one of the best players in the squad right now. He'll probably miss the La Liga match against Deportivo La Coruña on Saturday, but there is no chance Roberto doesn't play the Champions League match against Manchester City next midweek.
