Rakitic is backing Neymar to be a superstar in a few years
Barcelona superstar Neymar will commit his future to the club at the end of this week, signing a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the Catalans until 2021. The Brazilian has played spectacular football at times, and he's clearly got the potential to become a Blaugrana legend.
Neymar's talent is so exceptional he's often tipped to be the next Lionel Messi. No one can ever be as good a footballer as Messi, but many people think Ney has the talent and personality to lead the next great Barça team into similar glories as the current one, led by Messi.
One of those people is Neymar teammate Ivan Rakitic, who praised the club for renewing the Brazilian's contract and believes Neymar has all the tools to be the next Barça megastar.
"If we speak about the best, it is Leo Messi. Neymar is on the way to be the next best. Barça will do the best thing to sign a new contract with him [one is on the table which Neymar indicates he will sign] and maybe they can put a buyout clause as high as possible, because he will be the next Messi for sure. He’s scored [nearly] 300 goals and he’s only 24. He’s really special."
