FC Barcelona Transfer Rumors: Liverpool full-back linked with Camp Nou move in January

Good option?

Sergi Roberto needs a backup at Barcelona thanks to the sad ending of Aleix Vidal's career, so obviously the names keep popping up.

After Héctor Bellerín from Arsenal, João Cancelo from Valencia, Darijo Srna from Shakhtar Donetsk, Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus and GLEN JOHNSON FROM STOKE CITY (I SWEAR HE WAS LINKED, I'M NOT KIDDING), the latest possible Blaugrana target is Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne, one of the best performers in the Reds' impressive start to the season in the Premier League.

Clyne has been a very good addition to the Liverpool squad since joining the club from Southampton last year. The 25-year-old is a reliable defender and makes very good runs going forward, and playing in a Jürgen Klopp team, he's clearly got big stamina and can run and press high up the pitch for 90 minutes, which suits the Barça style. Klopp is playing a possession-based game in England, and Clyne looks very comfortable in that system, which has similar traits to the Barça way.

Clyne would cost around €20 million, which isn't a giant price tag. It really doesn't seem like a bad idea to sign him as solid backup to Roberto, but there's one little problem: the report linking Clyne to Barça comes from The Sun, which is the worst source of transfer rumors in England.

The link makes sense and Clyne is a good option, but with the link coming from The Sun, it's really impossible to believe the report. But we never know.
