"I wasn't a six-month project", says a happy Arda
Arda Turan took a while to become a really important part of the Barcelona squad. The Turkish midfielder struggled to adapt to the system in the first six months of his Blaugrana career, and many fans though he just wasn't a good fit for the club, and many reports linked the 29-year-old with a move away from the Catalan giants.
Most of the reports were about an offer from Chinese Super League team Beijing Guoan, who were prepared to make Arda the biggest signing in Chinese football history. Those reports were never confirmed as true, though there were a lot of reasons to believe them.
But we don't need speculations anymore. Arda himself confirmed there was a giant offer from a Chinese team, but Barça immediately rejected the offer, showing they believed in the player and his ability to turn his luck around.
"Last season, a club from China offered €50m to sign me, but Barcelona rejected the offer. Barcelona did not sign me just for six months. I am at Barcelona as part of a long-term project."

Good thing Barça rejected that offer, then, because Arda is one of the best player on the team. A better Arda playing the way he is playing now is definitely better than €50 million in the bank.
