A look at the latest gossip

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang waiting on Barca

This week has seen rumors that Willian and Fabian Ruiz are both waiting to hear from Barca, and Wednesday brings news that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in the same boat.

According to Le10sport, the Arsenal striker has postponed talks over a new Arsenal contract and is waiting to see what happens in the future.

The Gabon international wants to see if Arsenal qualify for the Champions League, but he’s also heard of interest from Barca and wants to see if the club are willing to make a move.

Real Zaragoza ask Barca for Riqui Puig

Meanwhile, starlet Riqui Puig is wanted by Real Zaragoza, and they have already asked the Catalan giants if they can borrow the midfielder.

Local daily the Heraldo reckon coach Víctor Fernández wants to bring the youngster in during the January transfer window.

However, the club are not getting their hopes up of doing a deal. They believe a move will be almost impossible because Riqui doesn’t really want to leave.

Messi not negotiating new deal

Over at Mundo Deportivo the word is that despite lots of talk about Barcelona handing Lionel Messi a fresh new deal, the club are not actually negotiating with their captain.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu and Eric Abidal have both spoken publicly about tying the GOAT down to a new deal, but the reality is apparently a little different.

Messi has made no secret of the fact that he wants to stay at the Camp Nou but is yet to meet with the club to discuss an extension.

Rakitic to Juventus is complicated

Ivan Rakitic’s future continues to make headlines with Calciomercato offering a detailed update on the current situation.

Apparently the midfielder is pretty keen on a move to Turin. The thing is that Juve would have to offload a couple of players to make room for him in their Champions League squad.

Emre Can is top of the list and has attracted interest from Barca, Bayern and PSG. Adrien Rabiot, Federico Bernardeschi and Rodrigo Bentacur are other players who could depart.

Skriniar more likely to go to Real Madrid than Barca

And finally we end with news that Milan Skriniar is wanted by both Real Madrid and Barcelona but is more likely to head to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mithat Halis, a representative of the firm who looks after Skriniar, gave AS an update on the Inter Milan defender.

He said: “Skriniar is worth €100 million. Real Madrid and Barcelona are competing for his signing for the last two years. Now Real Madrid are closer to reaching agreement with Inter Milan because they want and they need him much more than Barcelona.”

It’s probably worth pointing out that Skriniar signed a new Inter deal just six months ago that is designed to keep him at the San Siro until 2023.
