Luis Suarez was also on target with a fine free-kick
Lionel Messi scored a stoppage-time penalty to secure a 2-2 draw for Argentina against Uruguay in an international friendly in Tel Aviv on Monday night.
Luis Suarez looked to have sealed a 2-1 win for Uruguay with a fine free-kick, but Messi’s spot-kick ensured honours ended even.
Uruguay took the lead on 34 minutes through Edinson Cavani. Lucas Torreira picked out Suarez in the box, and he crossed for Cavani to convert his 50th international goal from close range.
Edison Cavani has now scored 50 goals for Uruguay, becoming just the second player after Luis Suarez (59) to reach the half-century.

Argentina thought they had equalised shortly afterwards through Paulo Dybala, but his effort was chalked off for handball as Uruguay went in at the break with a 1-0 lead.
La Albiceleste did hit back in the second half. Messi sent a free-kick into the box for Sergio Aguero to head past Martín Campaña on 63 minutes.
Yet they were only level for five minutes as Suarez fired Uruguay ahead in style. The Barcelona striker curled a free-kick over the wall and into the roof of the net to make it 2-1.

Argentina did have chances to equalise but looked set for a first defeat since July until they handed a lifeline in stoppage time when Martin Caceres was penalised for handball.
Up stepped Messi to rescue the draw for Argentina, sending his penalty down the middle to make it two goals in two games for the GOAT over the international break.
