Barcelona are more likely to want a straight-up sale, howeverght-up sale,
Juventus continues to push for a swap deal that will bring Ivan Rakitić to them, one involving Emre Can, reports Tuttosport. Rakitić has featured on the bench at Barcelona with the emergence of Frenkie de Jong, while Can himself may see his time limited by manager Maurizio Sarri.
The Catalans do not rule out a last minute sale, reports the Italian source. Another Barça player Juventus is pushing for is Juan Miranda. The young left-back has been linked with a move to Schalke 04 lately.
ESPN reports that Rakitić at this point doesn’t want to leave Barcelona, although the club has shown a willingness to let him go for the right offer. They echo reports that Juventus are on alert for the Croatian, but they inform that Barcelona do not want a swap deal and prefer a pure sale.
The ramifications of a potential Neymar deal may be one of the reasons Barça want to bring cash in as soon as possible, while lowering the wage bill. Rakitić’s sale would do both.Ivan
