Nooooooo.
Everything was looking good for a magical Barcelona night away from home. They were down 3-0 at the half after an incredibly bad opening 45 minutes, but had pulled the score back to 3-2 with 20 minutes remaining. They were pushing hard for an equalizer until the unthinkable happened.
Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen proceeded to gift Celta Vigo a fourth goal by clanging a clearance off of Pablo Hernandez’s head and into the back of the net. A calamity of all calamities has, in all likelihood, cost Barcelona their comeback attempt and any chance of mustering a point out of this one.
My, oh my. It was looking so promising for the Blaugrana after Neymar and Pique brought them back into the match and then ter Stegen gave it all away with one mis-kick of the ball.
He surely won’t be living this moment down anytime soon, but hopefully he won’t let it shake his confidence going forward.
