Barcelona coach Luis Enrique defends Paco Alcácer: "The squad knows he can do the job"

The critics are talking, but Lucho and his men trust the new striker

The bad early form of Paco Alcácer has been the talk of the town in Barcelona over the last few days. Ever since joining the club from Valencia a month ago, the 23-year-old striker has struggled to adapt to the new system, and is yet to score a goal in four appearances.

Alcácer himself said in a recent interview that he "has to improve on everything", but he remains confident he will find his scoring boots and start to contribute for the Blaugrana. Coach Luis Enrique was asked on Saturday about Paco's bad early form, and the manager was very complimentary of his player, and showed a clear trust on Paco's abilities:

"Paco is doing everything I want of him and, even though he is still adapting, he is doing it perfectly. It is key that the squad knows Paco can do a job for the team. He arrived at the end of pre-season which makes things difficult but I'm pleased. Alcacer has been wonderful, he has been almost perfect. I am happy with his performances."

Lucho also trusted and praised Arda Turan for months, and we know what happened. Let's give Paco some time, shall we?
