The road to the Copa del Rey Final is set.
The Spanish Federation took the time on Friday morning to put the four remaining teams in the Cup together for a quick draw of the competition's semifinals. With Sevilla, Celta Vigo and Valencia on the pot, there was no easy opponent for Barcelona to face.
Somehow, the draw was kind. Barça will face the struggling Valencia, who had a tough time to eliminate La Liga relegation candidates Las Palmas in the quarter-finals. The team coached by Manchester United legend Gary Neville has gone through giant problems in the Spanish League, yet to win under their new coach. Despite a strong, talented squad, Los Che are in the bottom half of the table and almost eliminated from Champions League contention.
However, as a recent league game at the Mestalla showed us, The Bats will give the Blaugrana a really tough time in the semifinals, especially because they will play the second and decisive leg at home, meaning that Barça will need to build a strong advantage at Camp Nou to avoid an upset.
The semi-finals start next Wednesday in the Catalan capital, with the second leg in Valéncia on February 10th.
