Barcelona will make decision on Pedro, Adriano transfers before Joan Gamper Trophy

There is a very pivotal week coming up for Barcelona.

On the field, there's the last friendly of the preseason, against Roma on Wednesday in the traditional Joan Gamper Trohpy, which will serve as a warmup match for the European and Spanish Super Cups scheduled for next week. The whole squad has returned to training, but there is still decisions to be made on what squad will move on.

As of right now, there are no need for any new signings. Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan are perfect for the system and what Luis Enrique wants from his players, and they'll also help his rotation patterns once they're able to debut in January. But two players have very attractive offers to leave, and both are reportedly willing to go away.

The main story is on Pedro Rodríguez. With the lack of meaningful minutes as a starter after the arrival of Luis Suárez, the 27-year-old has a €30 million offer from Manchester United on the table. He liked the contract offer and is waiting for his current club to make a call.

Backup full-back Adriano Correia also saw his role diminish with the new coach, and although he did seem comfortable with less minutes while battling injuries last season, he also saw a good opportunity to find new challenges after the Blaugrana received a €6 million offer from Joan Gamper opponents Roma.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu and coach Enrique both have publicly stated that they want the two players to stay, and there are no indications that either of them is forcing a move away from Catalonia. However, both Pedro and Adriano have reportedly accepted their contract offers, which puts pressure on the board to make an ultimate decision.

Which is bound to happen this week. Bartomeu will meet with club officials to make a final call on the two transfers. They want to decide as quickly as possible to either end the rumors completely or to give time for the players to move to their new teams before any real competition begins.

It is very likely that we'll know the future of Pedro and Adriano within the next couple of days, possibly even before the Gamper match.
