A little over a month ago, when Barcelona was holding elections for a new club president, a big transfer topic came up before the signing of Arda Turan: the Blaugrana candidates were looking to Paul Pogba as their biggest trump card to win. No deal was done, but there was reportedly a promise from Juventus that they would sell the French phenom to the Catalan giants in 2016.
But over the weekend, a big club started a heavy attempt to steal the 22-year-old from the Blaugranes: Premier League champions Chelsea allegedly made a giant offer to the Scudetto holders to bring the France international to England, and they are still hoping to get the player, according to reports.
Sources told Barça Blaugranes that club officials are still confident that Juve will keep their promise and only open negotiations for the player in 2016, and the Treble winners have a hypothetical "priority" to get the deal done, since this would be Pogba's favorite destination. But money talks, and Chelsea have loads of it, not only to pay the club but to offer hefty wages to Paul himself.
How about you, Barça fans? Are you confident that the Catalans can get Pogba?
