A nice bit of mutual admiration going on here
Aritz Aduriz has been full of praise for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen who has previously described the Athletic star as the “toughest striker” he has faced in his career.
The 39-year-old has been asked about the Germany international’s comments and admits he was flattered to hear such praise from the Barcelona stopper.
“He’s an incredible goalkeeper, very complete. He’s one of the best, without a doubt,” he said.
“That he has you in mind and that he remembers you are words that I am very grateful for and that reach deep within me.
“From what I heard from people around him, he is not only a great goalkeeper, he is also a great person and that makes me even more proud.”

Aduriz’s only goal of this season came on the opening day of the campaign in a 1-0 win over Barcelona. He announced in August that he plans to retire at the end of the current campaign.
