Plans are being put in place for football to return

La Liga games will be played without fans and behind closed doors until next year because of the coronavirus pandemc, according to ESPN.

The report claims La Liga clubs have already been told of the decision and that stadiums will only reopen “under strict safety measures” from January 2021.

There is still no clear idea of when La Liga will resume. ESPN report the competition could recommence in June.

The Guardian report that La Liga is hoping teams could return to training in the second week of May and are starting to put plans into place.

There will be “three stages to training – individual, small group and full team.” The second stage means players will have to live away from their families in isolation.

Players will also undergo “daily serology antibody tests” and any positive tests will means the player has to be isolated.

Sport report Barcelona players and staff will undergo the first tests on Tuesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

They will be tested without having to get out of their cars and will then go straight home.
