The Man City striker has defended the Barcelona captain
Manchester City and Argentine national team striker Sergio Aguero came to the defense of Lionel Messi yet again. Aguero is a stanch defender of Messi and has been a great teammate when unfair criticism comes at Messi in regards to the Argentine national team and Messi’s performance.
“I do not understand those who criticise him in the national team,” Aguero told TyC Sports. “He is the first to suffer and continues to come.”

The leader of a team will often be the one of take the brunt of the critiques when their team fails. Messi and Argentina are a classic example of this. It likely won’t ever change, unless a World Cup win falls in their laps.
