The transfer saga is not over yet
Atletico Madrid have reportedly make a complaint to La Liga regarding Barcelona’s signing of Antoine Griezmann.
Los Colchoneros have already issued a statement noting how unhappy they are with the Frenchman’s transfer and believe they are owed €200m not €120m for his transfer.
Atletico believe the deal was done before Griezmann’s release clause dropped to €120m on July 1st, and president Enrique Cerezo has said they would only make that claim if they had evidence.
They have now followed that up by taking the matter to La Liga, according to widespread reports, in the hope of receiving another €80m from Barcelona for their former French international.
La Liga will now reportedly hear their case on Thursday and then make a decision regarding the transfer.
Meanwhile, Griezmann has already joined up with Barcelona for pre-season training and is expected to be part of the squad that jets out to Japan on Saturday for friendlies against Chelsea and Vissel Kobe.
