Leon Goretzka is one of the most in-demand midfielders at the moment with the Germany international out of contract in the summer and set to leave Schalke.
Barcelona have been one of several clubs linked with Goretzka but it had seemed that he was set to join Bayern Munich.
However, coach Jupp Heynckes has been asked about the midfielder and said it is not a done deal, hinting that Barcelona could still be in the race for his signature.
"He is a good player. I like him. You have to wait and see. If I read correctly, his manager [Jörg] Neubauer said that they have not yet decided. The Spaniards are still there in the race.
“My assistant Hermann worked with him in Schalke. He's a smart boy & he knows what's best for him.”

Goretzka has previously said he would make a decision in January and the latest speculation suggested he had chosen Bayern.
However, Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel has said that as far as the club is aware, he is still yet to make a decision on his future.
"Leon has not informed us so far that he has decided to leave us," Heidel said.
"I trust Leon and his agent, with whom I was in contact yesterday [Sunday]."
