The defender will not play again this year
Barcelona have confirmed the extent of Samuel Umtiti’s hamstring injury and it’s bad news for the Blaugrana with the defender out for approximately eight weeks.
That means the defender will not play again in 2017, will miss El Clasico and January’s fixtures too.

Barca are also without Javier Mascherano right now and he is not expected back until mid-December.
Until then Ernesto Valverde will look to Gerard Pique and Thomas Vermaelen in central defence, although he could also use Barca B’s David Costas who featured in the Copa del Rey second leg win.
