AS is reporting that Barcelona are close to figuring out a stop gap for some of their defensive gaps. Palmeiras’ young centre-back Yerry Mina is reportedly in talks with Barcelona over the sale of the young Colombian for as little as €9 million .
The move could come at a perfect time due to the injury to Samuel Umtiti and the increasing likelihood that Javier Mascherano will leave come January.
As are reporting that Josep Maria Bartomeu was allowing manager Ernesto Valverde to make the final call regarding the player. The report specifies that: “despite the coach's apparent initial misgivings, he has finally given the deal his thumbs-up.”
The deal seems to be getting pushed through quickly with the report also stating that Barcelona are giving their directors Robert Fernandez and Pep Segura permission to start finalizing terms with Mina himself.
If the report is truly accurate then the deal could be done sooner rather then later, providing Barcelona with some much needed depth on the back line.
