Barcelona haven't called us about Arthur, says Gremio president

Gremio president Romildo Bolzan was interviewed before the club’s Club World Cup final against Real Madrid on Saturday.

In the interview he was asked about the club’s star player Arthur being seen in a Barcelona kit in Spain.

He also touched on the rumors that Barcelona have been in talks and perhaps even offered a sum for Arthur.

"Yes, for me too. I was surprised because they knew I was coming to a lunch, but I ended up only with a Barcelona board member who I didn't even know. It was a strange situation, an oversight, a scene in which they put the player there inadvertently.

“This bothered the club, but hey, it's in the past. We have received no offers from Barcelona.

“Nobody has contacted us and, if they do, we will tell them that the only way he is leaving is by paying the buyout clause of 50 million euros."

The latest rumors suggest Real Madrid are now interested in Arthur, and Chelsea have also been credited with a move for the midfielder.

If Barca really do want to bring the Brazilian to Camp Nou, some urgency may be needed as interest in the 21-year-old starts to hot up ahead of the January window.
