Say it ain’t so Mascherano!
Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano made it clear how he views Barcelona’s future in a recent interview.
Mascherano discussed the era of success that Barcelona have enjoyed, as well as the future that is near.
"This Barca era [of success] is still not over, but it's getting closer. I'm clear on that," he said.
"I believe that all eras have to come to an end in life and Barca's is close to its end -- I think I know when, but I'm not going to say!"
Mascherano’s observations are fascinating. You could see Barcelona attempting to both re-tool their roster, as well as making it younger over the summer.
The comments are also a bit odd, because Barcelona in the age of the greatest player of all time - Lionel Messi.
Even as he gets older, Barcelona are very aware of the needs of the team now and moving forward.
The current “era” may be nearing an end, but a new one is no doubt on the horizon.
