Luka Modric's first-half performance was a joy to behold, winning the midfield battle with Sergio Busquets and preventing Barcelona from making any form of beeline to Lionel Messi. The more than 90,000 fans at Camp Nou unveiled a mosaic that contained a depiction of ‘castellers’ (human towers) in which the words ‘Força Barça’ could be seen. Both areas behind the goals bore the yellow and red of the ‘Senyera’, the Catalan flag. Unlike other mosaics, the one against Real Madrid was unique in the sense that it was dynamic, moving from the bottom part of the stands to the top, echoing the building of a ‘castell’ (human tower).
