A few weeks ago, reports surfaced about Barcelona looking for a replacement if Pedro Rodríguez does join Manchester United. Now, it seems like the Blaugrana are set to bring him in.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the same outlet that reported it for the first time, Celta Vigo striker Nolito is indeed part of Barça's plans in case Pedro leaves, and the Catalan giants have set aside €18 million to offer the Celestes if need be. The initial fee would be €14 million, and after signing a four-year contract, Nolito could bring another €4 million in profit to his current club due to performance bonuses.
The 28-year-old is a well known commodity within the Blaugrana club and manager Luis Enrique, who coached him for three years at Barça B and two other seasons in Vigo. After an impressive season of 13 goals and 14 assists in 2014/15, Nolito joined La Roja, Spain's national team.
So this is the situation: Barça is very invested in keeping Pedro, but he is free to decide whatever he wants. If he does stay, than the squad is set for 2015-16 after Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan debut in January. If not, Nolito is a real target, and there is a possibility he's signed. Let's see what happens.
