Vincent Kompany shows Humility After Humiliation

Barça have played Manchester City 4 times these past two seasons. Each time, Barça were victorious. Man City’s skipper seemed reluctant to admit Barça’s superiority, until now.

After 360 minutes of being repeatedly humiliated by Barcelona, Kompany finally seems to have a bit of respect for his superiors. In the first two games against Barça, Kompany actually had a good game. He came up strong and was there when needed. After being beat soundly at the Etihad, he had this to say:

"When it was 11 vs 11 we showed them too much respect. They were there for taking. They were not the best team we have played this season not at all."

Roy Keane on the other hand, didn’t seem impressed by Kompany’s remarks. "He’s obviously really tired after the game. I’m not sure he knows what he’s talking about", Keane retorted.

Before this season’s first leg, Kompany was skeptical of Barça. ""I think their ability is not about hurting you all game - you can have tougher games when you go to Stoke City - it's about the fact they can decide a game within a second", he said sounding unimpressed and uninterested. What makes the comment even more amusing, is Kompany’s performances in both legs of the tie. He was abysmal. Barça toyed with Man City, and Kompany was at the heart of it all. Being made to look a fool, MSN humiliated Kompany repeatedly, completely flattening his confidence and arrogance. Now, his opinions seemed to have changed.

Here are his latest thoughts on the tie:
