Barcelona got the win they needed, a 6-1 rout against Rayo Vallecano, on a sunny Sunday lunchtime in the Camp Nou and now top La Liga for the first time since their loss at Real Madrid at the end of October.

CD Lugo v FC Barcelona B: Late frustration (3-2) | FC Barcelona

Caballero made the most of his height to rise to meet an Iriome cross and gets things back level after 82 minutes. From governing the game, Barça B were suddenly in disarray. Ortolà produced handball-esque save with five minutes to go to deny Lugo but three minutes later Sergi Samper put the ball in his own net to spark off wild celebrations in the Anxo Carro stadium.

FC Barcelona U19 v Huesca: Breaking the wall (1-0) | FC Barcelona

Huesca once again proved to be a tough nut to break. They may be one of the lowest ranked teams in the league table, but the Aragonese outfit held out for most of the game with the Barça U19s by doing exactly what they did when going down 1-0 to FCB in the meeting earlier on this season – basically renouncing any attempt to keep the ball and sitting back in the hope of sneaking a goal either from counter attacks or dead ball situations.

Athletic Bilbao v Real Madrid | Sky Sports Football

Real Madrid suffered a huge blow to their Primera Division title bid as they were beaten 1-0 at Athletic Bilbao thanks to a first-half header by Aritz Aduriz. The European champions lacked their usual intensity and attacking flair, above all in the first half, and drop points for the second match running, following last weekend's 1-1 draw with Villarreal.

BBC losing transmission as goals dry up for exhausted Madrid - Goal.com

Apart from Ronaldo's enforced two-match ban for aggression at Cordoba in late January, the trio has started all of Madrid's matches since the winter break. Results in that time, however, have been disappointing for the players individually and the team collectively - and Saturday's sterile show at Athletic was yet another example.

Real Madrid attackers playing too individually says Carlo Ancelotti - ESPN FC

The Blancos coach told his post-match news conference that his team had "gifted" the three points to Athletic, with the issue having been bad play in attack, not a poor attitude. "We gifted them the whole game," Ancelotti said. "In the first half they scored, and in the second we were not able to. It is not a problem of attitude, it is a tactical problem, in our attacking play.

Deportivo 3-4 Sevilla | Sky Sports Football

Sevilla conquered their demons away from home by coming from behind to win 4-3 at struggling Deportivo in the Primera Division. Unai Emery's side had lost their last four away trips in the league and their trip to Riazor got off to a bad start when Oriel Riera opened the scoring for Deportivo in the 27th minute.

Granada 1 Malaga 0 | Sky Sports Football

Ignacio Camacho's unfortunate own-goal proved enough to tip Saturday night's Andalusian derby in Granada's favour. The hosts at Los Carmenes were the better side throughout but needed a mistake from Malaga midfielder Camacho to book them the win that brings them within three points of safety.

Elche 1 Almeria 0 | Sky Sports Football

Elche climbed further away from the Primera Division drop zone after beating Almeria 1-0. Victor Rodriguez scored the only goal of the game with just five minutes on the clock, although the hosts passed up plenty of opportunities to extend their lead, and had a second goal harshly ruled out for a foul.
