The Barcelona fullback spoke over a videocall
Sergi Roberto says he barely slept after scoring the winning goal for Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain in March 2017.
Speaking to the club’s YouTube channel over a videocall, Roberto talked about multiple topics.
“I don’t know if I was able to sleep. Nothing, very little, two hours... I was up all night watching the goal over and over, I practically didn’t sleep,” the fullback said.
Roberto also said he hopes La Liga will allow teams time for a pre-season when competitions returns after the stoppages due to the worldwide pandemic.
“I hope there is a preseason when competition returns, because in the end, the training sessions these days are different. I hope that when competition returns, we can build our form to compete at the maximum level,” he said.
The fullback says he’s trying to make the best out of a bad situation.
“We’re doing well, we thank the sanitation personnel, and to those affected, we send a lot of strength. And above everything, it’s very important to stay at home,” Roberto said.
“Not leaving the home is what is most complicated, but I enjoy my time with my daughter. Despite the bad things, there are good things like being with your family. I do some sports with her, and I play all day with her. I’m very lucky and she gets up around 8, “
