Neymar will join Barcelona training this week before officially signing for PSG next Monday - Report

According to reports in France and in Spain, Neymar will solve his situation with his current club before joining his new club

Neymar is still a Barcelona player, at least until next week. According to L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain are planning to unveil the Brazilian as their new player next Monday, so Neymar will join training with the Blaugrana until Sunday.

Ernesto Valverde will be working with the entire squad starting on Wednesday, in preparation for the Joan Gamper Trophy against Chapecoense next Monday and the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid on August 13th. During this week, Neymar will finalize his move away from Barça, taking care of small details and saying goodbye to his teammates before officially moving to Paris.

As we reported earlier this week, PSG have agreed to pay Neymar’s €222 million release clause and the deal is completed. Neymar went to China on Sunday and stopped by Dubai on Tuesday for a medical. He’s going to France this weekend to sign the contract, and the announcement should happen on Monday.

So we still have to wait a while before Neymar leaves. Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat...

La Liga Will Not Accept PSG’s 222m Buyout for Neymar - Catalan Source

At least not at first...

La Liga will not accept Paris Saint-Germain’s 222 million payment for Neymar’s release clause, if/when they try to pay it, according to Diario SPORT.

La Liga had already warned that whether or not PSG paid the release clause, they would bring them to task for possible breach of Financial Fair Play rules.

"Their commercial rights do not exceed those of Real Madrid or Barcelona. No one believes that," said La Liga chief Javier Tebas. FFP is supposed to keep clubs from spending well beyond their means. Some have accused it of being a paper tiger so far, though.

SPORT says that La Liga will demand proof that everything is on the up and up, both in terms of FFP and in terms of Neymar's contract. The move will therefore be blocked at least provisionally... if it does indeed happen.

Barcelona rallying support to block Neymar’s PSG move

This isn’t going to end well...

There are multiple reports circulating that Neymar’s move to Paris Saint-Germain is almost a done deal at this point.

Well, almost.

According to Sport, Barcelona has been in touch with members of the disbanded G-14 to raise concerns regarding the Brazilian's transfer. Barcelona’s agenda has primarily revolved around PSG’s blatant disregard for the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. Another issue being discussed is the stratospheric market inflation that would follow once the transfer is consummated—with player prices already being exorbitant, any potential move would cause a major blow to the economic conditions of the business.

While all contact so far is unofficial, there is a minuscule chance that Barcelona put a full-stop to PSG’s antics.

Neymar is due to return to Spain to meet with his father and other advisors regarding the move. Barcelona is yet to pay the €26million they owed Neymar’s father for last season’s renewal, with the paperwork being delayed till after the transfer is finalised.

Barcelona is doing its best to give PSG a tough time in the Neymar saga and while there is very little left to be done, it’s not going to be pretty.

A Conspiracy: Neymar Has a Clone. That’s Why His Transfer from Barcelona to PSG is so Confusing.

Reports come out today that he’s in Qatar, Brazil, the UAE, Paris, and Barcelona. There’s no other explanation.

Mundo Deportivo is confused. The Catalan daily reported today Neymar was going from China to Dubai and then to Brazil. Believe it or not, they reported that sources in the star’s entourage had told them Neymar was somehow still not sure if he was going to leave Barça for Paris Saint-Germain.

But FC Barcelona said they expected to see Neymar soon for training. Meanwhile, Le Parisien said Neymar was gonna go straight to Paris to be unveiled as a PSG player. Other sources said he was going to Qatar to pass a medical.

And then Ney just posted a picture of him on Instagram that seemed to confirm he was on a flight to Barcelona. MD insist there were pictures that proved Neymar was indeed going to Brazil, but he might not. Because it’s from the same source that would be wrong, that calls into question the entire idea that Neymar is still undecided about the transfer.

So what’s the answer to all this? Simple. Neymar has a clone.

Think about it. How can a player be 200% sure to stay and 400% sure to leave? It all makes too much sense. One’s going to Barcelona and then to Brazil. The other to have a medical in Qatar and then to Paris to sign as a new transfer.

Here’s the conspiracy theory: Paris Saint-Germain wanted to sign Neymar, but the player didn’t want to join. Their solution was to use their vast funds to create a perfect clone, one designed to play in Paris. The scientific process was expensive and risky, but it worked. The only problem? Since they were exact copies, legally they were the same person. Any contract signed by Neymar, his clone was bound by.

Clonemar at first was OK with this. He arranged a pact with Originey: they would take turns playing to keep maximum fitness. But the other one had to stay undercover while one of them played. No one could learn their secret. How could they hide it?

Well, what if they took on the identity of a random Brazilian? Enter: the Douglas transfer.

The real Douglas Pereira was paid off handsomely to never play again. Meanwhile, one of the Neymars would take on his identity when the other one took the mantle of Neymar. Barcelona’s bizarre signing of Douglas was just to cover this.

Notice, Douglas didn’t play much. That was to give the Neymars proper rest. And when Douglas did play, he was bad. This was because wearing the prosthetic equipment and mask to hide as the Douglas identity is extremely cumbersome.

The arrangement was good at first. “Neymar” played some of his best football while “Douglas” was around.

But things soured. Originey was tired of sharing the glory. He wanted to play every game. He convinced the board to loan “Douglas”, actually Clonemar, to Sporting GIjon. Notice “Douglas” suddenly was playing a lot more?

“Neymar’s” finishing took quite a dip without his clone to give him rest. While “Neymar” was great at times, he was inconsistent without his clone easing his workload.

After an unsuccessful season for FC Barcelona, Originey decided it was time to reunite with his clone. This time, “Douglas” would go to another club entirely to keep suspicions low. But Clonemar had had enough. He told PSG he was ready to sign for them. He leaked to the press he wanted to “leave Lionel Messi’s shadow” but what he really wanted to leave was his original’s shadow.

The bit about “PSG might get in trouble with Financial Fair Play”? It’s not that. They’re trying to find a loophole to have a clone play for them while the original is still at Barça.

Now Originey and Clonemar are fighting it out. One of them wants to go, one wants to stay.

That, or Neymar just likes to play with our feelings.

Barcelona outcast close to Benfica move - Report

The Lord Douglas didn’t work at Barça, so he’ll try his luck in Portugal

It’s VERY safe to say the signing of Douglas Pereira has not been the best piece of business in Barcelona history. The Brazilian full-back was signed for €6 million back in 2014 as part of the squad overhaul at the start of the Luis Enrique Era, and after two awful seasons, Douglas was loaned out to Sporting Gijón at the start of the last campaign.

The Brazilian was able to recover some of the good football that he showed at São Paulo, but he was never part of the plans for Ernesto Valverde, who moved quickly to sign Nélson Semedo from Benfica as his top right-back.

In the middle of the Semedo negotiations, Benfica mentioned they would have no natural right-back in the squad, and Barça suggested that the Portuguese club could take Douglas on loan for a season with an option to buy. Benfica liked the suggestion, and after Douglas agreed to the move, all parties involved acted quickly to complete the deal. According to Catalan radio RAC1, the deal has been completed on Monday.

The Lord Douglas will be announced as a Benfica player over the next few days, and we wish him the best of luck.

Barcelona players “completely sick” of Neymar situation, want PSG transfer saga to end - Report

Whether he’s staying or going, Neymar’s teammates are not putting up with this soap opera anymore

If Barcelona fans cannot wait to see the end of the soap opera involving Neymar and Paris Saint-Germain, you can be sure the players feel the same way.

According to a report from Diario SPORT, citing sources within the dressing room, the players are “completely sick” of Neymar’s ‘show’ and want the situation to be fully resolved as soon as possible.

While Neymar’s teammates have been very supportive and tried to convince him to stay, they feel like Neymar has enjoyed the attention the story has been getting and made it into a “public spectacle” that’s been dragging on for more than two weeks.

The players feel like their amazing wins against giant clubs like Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid were overshadowed by Neymar’s story, which damaged the club’s image in the United States.

The feeling among the dressing room leaders is that Neymar’s departure is imminent and inevitable, and they cannot wait for an official announcement to move on from this story and concentrate on the new season, which starts in two Clásicos against Real Madrid in three days to decide the Spanish Super Cup.

Barça’s squad returns to full training on Wednesday, and they hope that they can finally have some peace and get back to work — with or without Neymar.
