The striker has apologised to fans

Robert Lewandowski admits Barcelona’s Super Cup final defeat to Real Madrid is “not acceptable” after his team lost 4-1 to their fierce rivals.

The Poland international was on target during the match but his goal meant little as Xavi’s side were well beaten.

Lewandowski took to social media after the game to share his thoughts.

“Not an acceptable outcome tonight,” he wrote on Instagram, “Sincerest apologies to Barcelona fans.”

Lewandowski isn’t the only Barcelona man apologising tonight, Xavi has also said sorry for his team’s poor performance.

The Poland international’s goal does mean that he’s scored in all four of his Spanish Super Cup appearances since signing for Barcelona.

Lewandowski has also now scored three goals in his last three appearances. He has 12 for the season and Barcelona will be hoping he can continue his goalscoring form as Xavi’s side look to get back on track.
