A fresh blow for the youngster

Ansu Fati has suffered yet another injury setback, with Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi confirming he’s going to be out for a “long time.”

De Zerbi and Brighton haven’t given any more details about the forward’s injury, only that he’s out of action for the foreseeable future.

Yet there have been a few updates already, with Relevo reporting that Fati will miss “at least eight weeks.”

The forward has apparently been given permission to return to Barcelona for treatment at home. The move will also allow the club to keep a close eye on him.

There’s a bit more detail from La Vanguardia who also reckon Fati will miss around “6-8 weeks” after suffering a hamstring tear.

Yet Mundo Deportivo aren’t quite as optimistic and claim initial checks suggest he’ll be out for three months. More tests are planned but a “significant injury” has been detected.

All of which is awful news for Fati, Barcelona and Brighton. Fati had been starting to enjoy life in the Premier League but may not now be seen back in action until February.
