A look at the latest gossip
PSG chiefs doubt Messi move
Today’s rumors start off with news from Qatar where PSG’s owners are doubting whether they can actually afford to land Lionel Messi after all.
Sporting director Leonardo has talked up a move for Messi again this week but the club’s owners fear such a move is not economically viable, according to La Gazette dello Sport.
Messi would of course be free but his huge wages would be a problem, although the French club will continue to monitor his situation.
Barcelona want Barella?
La Gazzetta are also reporting that Barcelona are keen on Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella and will make a move either in the summer or next January.
Barca may have loads of midfielders already, and not very much money, but that does not appear to make much difference to the Italian daily.
Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also mentioned as possible destinations for the 23-year-old midfielder.
PSG target Emerson
Meanwhile, PSG are said to be keen on Barcelona/Betis defender Emerson and are willing to splash out €25 million on the 22-year-old.
Emerson is enjoying plenty of game time at Betis which appears to have attracted interest from the Ligue 1 champions, according to Sport.
If the full-back does move to PSG then Barca stand to make a profit of €10 million on a player who has never actually made an appearance for the club.
Todibo on the move again?
Elsewhere, Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo could be on the move again. The center-back is out on loan at Benfica but is struggling for game time in Portugal.
Italian side Parma could be willing to rescue Todibo and offer him some football in the second half of the season, according to Gianluca di Marzio.
French sides St Etienne and Nice are also possible destinations if Todibo does cut his Benfica loan short.
Junior wanted by AC Milan & West Ham
And finally we end with news that Junior Firpo has attracted interest from AC Milan and West Ham United in the January transfer window.
According to ESPN, the two clubs have already sounded out Barca about a move, and the Catalan giants are open to offers.
Milan would prefer a loan, while West Ham are happy to buy but can’t guarantee first-team football. Barca’s lack of a president is also a problem that will complicate any deal.
