The midfielder’s second came straight from a corner

Barcelona B played their first game of 2021 and ran out 4-0 winners against Badalona in an eventful match at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Ilaix Moriba, fresh from his first-team call-up, was named in the starting line-up along with Alex Collado, and Konrad de la Fuente.

Henrik Larsson and Ramon Planes were spotted ahead of kick-off taking in the action.

The hosts got off to a bright start and opened the scoring after just six minutes from a corner. The ball was swung in and was converted from close range with the goal initially given to Mika Marmol but later deemed to be an own goal.

Barca doubled their lead on 68 minutes when Collado struck his first. The midfielder was on hand to fire the ball into an empty net after the goalkeeper had come out to deny Rey Manaj.

Things got even better for Barca B four minutes later when Badalona were reduced to 10 men when the goalkeeper saw red for a handball outside of the penalty area.

Another red card followed in the final 10 minutes as the visitors were reduced to nine men and Manaj made it 3-0 from the resulting penalty.

There was still time for one more goal though. Collado grabbed his second of the night as he somehow sneaked the ball in at the near post directly from a corner.

Barca B’s win makes it three in a row for Francisco Javier García Pimienta’s side who move into second place in the table after 16 games.
