The defender picked up a problem in the warm-up at Granada
Barcelona have offered an update on Ronald Araujo after the Uruguay international was forced to miss the club’s La Liga clash with Granada on Saturday.
The center-back was named in the starting XI but had to pull out after picking up a problem in the warm-up and was replaced by Samuel Umtiti.
Araujo had further tests on Sunday and has been diagnosed with a hamstring string.

“A medical assessment and tests performed on Sunday morning have shown that Ronald Araujo has an overload in the hamstring muscles of his right thigh. The evolution of the injury will condition his availability for the next training sessions.”

The injury doesn’t appear too serious but it seems likely Barca may have to cope without Araujo against Real Sociedad in the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday. Clement Lenglet will be available again after suspension along with Oscar Mingueza and Umtiti.
