The midfielder scored in the 3-2 win over Real Betis
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong thinks his team are “improving every week” under new manager Quique Setien.
The Spanish champions beat Real Betis 3-2 at the Benito Villamarin on Sunday to secure their first away La Liga win under Setien.
De Jong was on target in an intriguing match against Betis that saw Barca twice come from behind and then go on and take all three points.
The Netherlands international offered his opinion after the match:
“It was a very entertaining match from both sides. I think it’s because both teams want to play from the back, want to press high up the field and for the people it’s really, really, really nice to watch.
“I think you can see we are growing every week, we are improving every week. We want to play from the back, we want to create more from midfield, to press high, to give a lot of intensity.
“I think you can see we are improving and hopefully it goes on like this until the end of the season and we win some trophies. I think think it’s a really exciting season, it’s really close between Madrid and us.”
