The Germans have reportedly closed the deal
Red Bull Leipzig have reportedly closed the deal with Dinamo Zagreb for the signing of Dani Olmo. The winger formerly from La Masia has been tipped for a return to Barcelona, but it seems like such a deal will not materialize.
Olmo will reportedly travel to Germany on Friday to pass his medical and sign his contract. The deal is said to be worth 25 million euro, with bonuses possibly adding up to an additional 35 million more.
The 21-year-old Spanish international will break the record for highest fee paid for a player from the Croatian league, beating previous fees paid for Marko Pjaca by Juventus (23 million) and Luka Modrić by Tottenham Hotspur (21 million.)
Rumors suggest Barcelona did not buy Olmo because they are looking for a pure striker, rather than a winger, to replace the injured Luis Suárez.
