The Chilean has been linked with a move to Inter Milan

Arturo Vidal is making headlines again after scoring his fifth La Liga goal of the season for Barcelona in their 4-1 win over Alaves.

There has been plenty of rumors the Chile international could be off in the January transfer window, but Mundo Deportivo brings fresh news about why Barca don’t want to sell.

The first reason is that Vidal is a player unlike anybody else in the squad. He is a physical presence, loves to fight for the ball and offers a different attacking dimension.

He can changes games after coming off the bench, is strong in the air and is the team’s fourth top scorer, after Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann.

The other reason for keeping him at the club is financial. It’s not considered good business to sell the 32-year-old, particularly while Barca are still fighting for three trophies.

Barcelona are willing to make him feel important, which is what he asked for last month, and while Inter are interested they can no longer offer Champions League football.

The European Cup is said to be a big ambition of Vidal’s, but Barca’s defeat of the Nerazzurri in their final group game helped condemn the Serie A side to the Europa League.
