Barcelona have received a “super offer” for the player
Both Barcelona and Paulinho are considering a parting of ways after just one season because a “super offer” for him has come through, according to two writers from Mundo Deportivo.
The team offering this “super offer” is left a mystery, but Roger Torelló writes that it could cost upwards of 50 million. That means Barcelona could make a pretty decent profit despite the fact that he was considered overpriced when Barça paid Guangzhou Evergrande 40 million to secure his services last year.
Fernando Polo today said that both the team and the player are studying the offer “very seriously.”
The offer apparently came through superagent Kia Joorabchian, who is also interested in getting Willian a move from Chelsea to Barcelona.
Interesting.
The situation, apparently, is that Barcelona could sell Paulinho and use those funds, plus a bit extra, to get Willian instead. The two are teammates in the national team and of similar age, though they offer two different playing styles.
Will Barça pull the trigger?
