The legend has had his say on the World Cup
Diego Maradona is no stranger to speaking his feelings one way or another regarding Lionel Messi and his Argentina career. This World Cup has been no exception, and Maradona spoke out about Messi and the expectations that were placed on his shoulders.
“They wanted Messi to solve everything,” he said.
”Leo got involved in the game, passed the ball to Biglia or Enzo Perez but got a wheelbarrow of cobblestones in return.”
“The story is written by the quality of the leaders. Argentina are adrift.

I’m sure Maradona has no angle in speaking negatively about how Argentina used Messi this year.
