The Brazilian will head to the Camp Nou this weekend
Gremio midfielder Arthur confirmed on Friday that his move to Barcelona has been brought forward and he will join the club this summer.
The Brazilian held a press conference to say goodbye to Gremio and to confirm the news. Barcelona had previously announced they had an option to sign him but he wasn’t expected to arrive until the winter.
“I wanted to go out in a press conference for the love I have for the Gremio fans. I am fulfilling a dream and for this I have to thank them. It is not a goodbye, it is a see you later and I hope to be able to return one day,
“Barça asked to arrive this summer and it was the clubs that spoke, I did not participate in the negotiations.”
Gremio’s Andre Zanota added a bit more detail and said he’ll shortly be flying to Barcelona.
“Arthur will travel to Barcelona this weekend. Today he is here to say goodbye to Gremio,” he said.
“We are closing the sale of Arthur, some small details are missing that will not be ready until tomorrow.”
