Neymar Jr. is entering his fourth season at Barcelona. He has been nothing short of amazing for the Blaugrana, and all the hype surrounding his signing was more than just justified. Neymar is already one of the five best footballers on Earth, and he still has potential to be even more special.
There is no doubt that Neymar has done great things for Barça, but the greatest goal of his career did not happen with the Catalan giants. Not the most important, like the one he scored against Juventus in the Champions League Final. But the greatest, the one that made the world know that Neymar had arrived.
It was five years ago to the date, in a Wednesday night at Vila Belmiro. Santos and Flamengo were playing a Brasileirão game that would not have any effect in the title chase so early in the competition. Neymar and Ronaldinho were on the pitch, but nobody was ready for what happened.
It was a 5-4 win for Flamengo in a football masterpiece, one of the greatest matches in the history of the sport. Period. Sensational from start to finish, the match featured a passing of the torch from Ronaldinho to Neymar, and the former Blaugrana would see a future Barça star shine bright.
Midway through the first half, with Santos already up 2-0, Neymar would run through the entire defense dribbling everyone on his way to greatness and a Puskas Award:

Even five years later, having watched this goal probably a million times, I still get goosebumps from seeing this. And to think this guy is now a Barcelona player.
Yeah, we're lucky.
