In this column, Xoel Càrdenas gives you his take on FC Barcelona's 3-0 win over Villarreal on Sunday evening. Luis Suarez picked up a goal. Neymar with two goals; one that will be talked about for a while.
BARCELONA, CATALONIA — FC Barcelona head into the international break and El Clásico on a winning streak, as El Blaugrana defeated Villarreal 3-0 at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening.
Luis Suarez had two chances from just inside the box in the opening eight minutes, but nothing came from his attempts. Claudio Bravo showed nice skill to get away from Roberto Soldado.

Villarreal goalkeeper Alphonse Areola saved a great Barcelona shot at goal by Jeremy Mathieu on a nice counterattack in the 27th minute. Soldado's shot from outside the box went wide in the 37th minute. Andrés Iniesta's cross just missed the head of Munir shortly before halftime. Bravo with a great save on a Samu Castillejo near shot to end the first half.
Early in the second half, referee Clos Gomez booked both Neymar and Luis Suarez for no real reason. Dani Alves just missed heading in the opening goal three minutes into the second half, but Areola was there to make the save.
Neymar opened the scoring in the 60th minute, as a tremendous pass by Sergio Busquets found the Brazilian and the kid slammed it past Areola for the 1-0 lead.

Iniesta nearly had a goal in the 63rd minute, but Areola was there to make the save. In the 69th minute, a penalty was called in favor of Barcelona, as Munir was taken down inside the box. Suarez stepped up a minute later and slammed the ball in to double the lead.

In the 86th minute, we witnessed one of the best goals of the year thanks to the genius that is Neymar:

Xoel's Take
All game long, we saw great passing by Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and others, but the finishing wasn't there in the first half. We saw a somewhat hesitant Luis Suarez in the first half who then stepped up in the second half. Munir was not bad against Villarreal, as the kid got the penalty called in his favor and was solid in the match. With Lionel Messi's inevitable return, it's important that Munir takes in and learns from all of this experience he's obtained these past few weeks. The key for Munir, like any other player, is to stop taking two steps back shortly after he takes a step forward, if you know what I mean.
Over the past few weeks, we've seen Neymar and Suarez lead the Barcelona attack. But over said few weeks, Sergio Busquets has raised his game to another level. Anyone who doubted he was the best CDM in the world is no longer doubting Busquets' status. He has been the best CDM for years, and so far this season, Sergio has been even more precise in his passes, better defensively (intercepting opponent's passes) and with all the injuries to Barcelona, Busquets' dominance has been even more important to the team's success.
Busquets is on fire, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

What will be talked about is Neymar's incredible goal, as it should be. Let's not forget the nice cross into the box by Luis Suarez to setup the goal. I honestly don't have any words to describe Neymar's goal. Just watch it over and over and over.

Via LaTdP (Catalan radio): Neymar and Luis Suarez since Lionel Messi's injury:
- 16 of the 16 goals scored in La Liga
- 20 of 23 goals scored in all competitions
While King Messi is away, Prince Neymar will play and dominate. The Brazilian is La Liga's leading goal scorer and is clearly the second-best player the world, despite what some people may think. Giving Luis Suarez the shot to take the penalty is just one example on how Neymar thinks more than just personal achievement. It's all about the team for him. Neymar has shown he can lead Barcelona at any time, and will only grow in his role as time goes by.

Three points against an always tough opponent, a clean sheet, and overcoming a pedestrian first half to finish the match with class. Overall, a good day for FC Barcelona.
Up next: El Clásico.
Vamos!
