Ansu Fati has been recalled
Ansu Fati is back in the Spain squad after making a successful return from injury and is one of five Barcelona players to be called up by coach Luis Enrique.
The teenage striker joins Sergio Busquets, Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba, and Gavi on the list for World Cup qualifiers against Greece and Sweden.
Here’s a look at the full squad:
Goalkeepers: David De Gea, Unai Simon, Robert Sanchez.
Defenders: Cesar Azpilicueta, Dani Carvajal, Ayemric Laporta, Eric Garcia, Pau Torres, Inigo Martinez, Jordi Alba, Jose Luis Gaya.
Midfielders: Sergio Busquets, Rodri, Gavi, Carlos Soler, Koke, Mikel Merino.
Forwards: Pabo Sarabia, Yeremy Pino, Alvaro Morata, Rodrigo Moreno, Pablo Fornals, Dani Olmo, Ansu Fati, Brahim Diaz.
Lucho spoke about the return of Fati at his press conference to announce his squad and insisted he would not take any risks with the youngster.
“We are going to be very careful with players who come back from injuries. We are not going to take risks, we are going to take care of them, especially Ansu. It is normal that he is not one hundred percent. We are going to assess how he can us help us.”
Spain’s first game is in Greece on Thursday, November 11 before a clash against Sweden at La Cartuja three days later.
Luis Enrique’s side head into the matches in second place in the group after six games, two points behind leaders Sweden.
