The Catalans threw away a three-goal lead
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong says the Catalan giants lacked personality and “forgot to play” against Celta Vigo on Saturday.
The visitors had cruised into a 3-0 lead at the break but saw Celta launch a comeback in the second half to snatch a point in a 3-3 draw.
It’s another tough result for Barcelona but De Jong says his team must do better.
“I think that in the second half we forgot to play, we were stuck,” he said.
“It was a lack of personality. We have to change as players because we have to offer ourselves more when there’s pressure from the opponent. That’s it.
“This game was very important to climb higher in the table and [to fail to win it] is a very strong blow for us. We can still fight [for La Liga] because we have a lot of quality. There’s been a lot of lost points and it will very difficult, but we have to continue.”

The result leaves Barcelona still in ninth place in the table and already 10 points behind current leaders Real Madrid after 12 games of the season played.
