The club legend is expected to replace Ronald Koeman
Barcelona chiefs including vice president Rafa Yuste and director of football Mateu Alemany have flown out to Doha to finalise a deal that will hopefully see Xavi return to the Camp Nou as coach, according to multiple reports.
It’s thought the Barca delegation will watch Xavi’s Al-Sadd team take on Al-Duhail on Wednesday and will then sit down with the Qatari side to try and find an agreement regarding Xavi.
The two Barca executives have already been snapped in conversation at Al-Sadd’s stadium with Xavi’s agents Arturo Canales and Fernando Solana.

Joan Laporta hasn’t made the trip despite some speculation that Al Sadd’s Sheikh owner Mohammed bin Al Thani viewed the Barcelona president’s presence in Qatar as being essential to doing a deal.
It’s also been reported that the Xavi is willing to take a pay-cut to head home and will sign on for the rest of the current campaign and two more seasons.
Barca are hoping to announce a deal before the end of the week but it’s unlikely Xavi will be in charge by the weekend. Sergi Barjuan is expected to continue as interim coach for Saturday’s La Liga match against Celta Vigo at the Camp Nou.
Xavi could be officially presented as Barca’s new manager early next week and will then have the international break to work with the players before the team returns to action against Espanyol on November 20.
